Is internet expensive where you live?

#6
This is my connection and I pay $150 per month for this (which includes TV and home phone). It's a decent connection but not the greatest and it's my only option. There is nothing faster and no other cable providers. The thing is, we have a 15 people in my house so bandwidth gets used up fast and 5mbps and just enough to stream with but with other people using the internet, I can't - which is unfortunate.

I used to live in a area where I was able to download more than 200mbps download with around 6 or 7mbps upload. Ping doesn't matter.

In my area, right now - this is what I get:

Embarrassing, but this will have to do for now. Gaming on it is bad.

Ping matters when it comes to gaming. Upload when it comes to streaming. How much do you pay for that though?
I think $100-ish. I don't remember, my family was the one who ordered it.

Tried on a different server, it fluctuates.

I only pay $50 more and get TV and phone. That's not great internet. I have Spectrum, have you looked into their speeds? Because I use their ultimate speed upgrade.

I have. The highest one for my area is the Gold package which is still locked at 100mbps. What we wanted was just cable (which Direct TV controls, but is part of AT&T), and internet. What I really need is more than 100mbps. However, the area's matrix controls are so weak, that it limits the bandwidth it can allocate to each resident. Thus why I have the upload/download speeds I do now. It's a ripoff, but there's really no other choice than these two titans. The other option is HughesNet, but I don't know that company.

I really wish Comcast was in this area, otherwise we wouldn't go AT&T, because their service is poor. We felt this in California, we feel the same now.

I agree with you on AT&T because their service sucks. If it storms, you have no internet, unlike Comcast. lol Some might say things like "Why would you play games when it's storming"....because I'm God!
